Slide until the tone
matches your ring.
The first screen asks what brought you here: sound for focus, study and sleep, or masking for tinnitus. Both live one tab apart, so you can switch anytime.
Focus: pick a mode, press start, and a pomodoro timer runs the session while the sound adapts to your room, hearing and time of day. Tinnitus: a two-minute guide finds the pitch of your ring, per ear if you like, and shapes the masking around it.
The sound keeps going when your screen locks, when a call comes in, and when you switch to AirPods, with the round countdown right on your lock screen. A sleep timer fades it out on its own.
Eight modes for deep work, study, creativity and rest, each carrying its evidence badge: a gentle 12-20 Hz pulse, binaural pairs, 40 Hz gamma. A pomodoro timer runs the session and the sound follows it.
Six genres synthesized live on your device: Deep Techno, Drum & Bass, Deep House, Lo-fi beats, Ambient Flow and Drone. Each focus mode drives its own tempo and melody, and the track evolves as you listen: layers come and go, the harmony moves, sections breathe.
A 2-second listen sets the level for your room, your AirPods hearing test balances the ears, your pulse can pace the waves, and the weather outside can pick the sound.
A masking mode that carves a soft notch around your pitch, so the sound sits right where the ringing lives. Per-ear tuning when the ring differs between ears.
White, Pink and Brown noise plus real recordings: Rain, Ocean, Stream, Forest, Fan. Gentle, never tinny.
Fade out after 15, 30 or 60 minutes, or let it run "until morning".
Through calls, an AirPods switch and a locked screen: the moments other apps get wrong. Pause it right from your lock screen.
A simple daily journal, a gentle monthly check-in, and a calm look at your trend over the weeks.

Honestly: the evidence varies by mode, and we label every mode with its level. The gentle amplitude pulse behind Focus and Deep Focus follows an approach validated in a large 2024 peer-reviewed study; binaural and 40 Hz modes carry moderate or lab-stage evidence and say so on their card. Nothing in the app pretends to be medicine, and the best test is a free session with your actual to-do list.
Yes. On the first screen you pick what brought you here: focus, study and sleep sound, or tinnitus masking. The focus side is a full product: eight modes, a pomodoro timer, generative music, and sound that adapts to your room, your hearing and the time of day. The masking side simply stays out of your way.
No. Quietra is a sound-masking tool for comfort and rest. It is not a medical device and is not a substitute for professional care. If the ringing in your ears is new, sudden, or only on one side, please see a doctor or audiologist.
When the room goes quiet, there is less everyday sound to sit on top of the ringing, so it stands out more — which is exactly when you are trying to fall asleep. Quietra fills that silence with a soundscape tuned to your pitch, so the ringing steps into the background.
Yes. The sound keeps going when your screen locks, when a call comes in, and when you switch to AirPods — the moments other apps tend to get wrong. You can pause it or see what is playing right from your lock screen, without unlocking. A sleep timer can fade it out on its own.
It is built to be gentle on battery. Playback is lightweight, and a sleep timer can fade the sound out after a set time or once you have drifted off, so it is not running any longer than you need.
